A state-of-the-art computer center for use by children in Beit Chana Activity Clubs for special needs children has begun operating at Ezer Mizion's national headquarters.

The colourful and artfully designed room was dedicated in memory of Nehemia and Sabina Mandelbaum and brings a new dimension of creative activity to these children as part of their varied daily program at the Activity Clubs. The computer equipment and software was donated by the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi), who warmly back this project.

Computer classes of children with a range of disorders that include brain damage, cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, autism, emotional disorders, and other disabilities, meet daily in groups of eight.  An individually tailored program of study helps participants - youngsters from the age of four and up - enhance their learning, speech, comprehension, and fine motor skills. Specific goals are set for each youngster and his/her progress monitored.  The classes are taught by an experienced computer teacher who is assisted by the children's volunteers who accompany them each day at the Beit Chana Activity Clubs.
