While there is no known cure for Alzheimer's, studies show that the pace at which it progresses can be slowed by stimulating patients to utilize their remaining abilities.
Project Alzheimer's, a joint initiative of Ezer Mizion and the Israel Alzheimer's Association, aims to help Alzheimer's patients preserve their abilities and to improve quality of life for these patients and their families.
To do this, Project Alzheimer's volunteers engage Alzheimer's patients in a variety of activities involving sensory stimulation, social opportunities, arts and crafts, and exercises aimed at strengthening logic, memory, communication, and muscles. |
